Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Ohali has been the governor of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) since March 2019.
He is also a member of the board of directors of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) and the Saudi Committee of Petrochemical Manufacturers (SCPM), and is a member of the advisory board of the Center of Research Excellence in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals (CoRE-PRP) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Al-Ohali attained his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1981.
Prior to taking up his current position, Al-Ohaili served as CEO and member of the board of directors of the Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) from 1999 to 2019.
He was also a member of the board of directors of Bank Albilad and worked at SABIC, which he joined in 1981.
He started his training in the US for two years then worked at the company’s location in Jubail Industrial City and worked in many executive posts in the company.
The GAMI delegation, headed by Al-Ohali, recently concluded their visit to the Paris Air Show, the largest of its kind in the world in the aviation and aerospace sector.
During the exhibition, Al-Ohali attended several strategic meetings with leaders of the world’s major companies in military manufacturing.
The meetings discussed a number of important topics that were spearheaded by programs of localization of military industries.
